The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. ~ Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
Our organization was established in 1983 as the Elizabeth Foundation through the generosity of Dorothy Slaughter and Elizabeth Keeling and other community members through an endowment fund. With funding from the BC Gaming Branch, donations and memberships over the past 30 years we have continued to foster the dream of the original members and have awarded over a million dollars in grants to eligible individuals and groups involved in the arts in our community. This work is carried on primarily by our board of directors who are all volunteers. Over the years we have been blessed with some wonderful members and somehow we have kept the ball rolling. It is hard work and always a challenge to find ways to have enough funds to match the needs of the community. We never lack in requests for our support.
Carol Monaghan, one of our long term board members retired last year after many years of hard work on the board and we would like to thank her for her service. We will be listing the names of all of our past directors on our website. They may have moved on but they constitute an important part of the fabric that is Peninsula Arts Foundation.
