Susan Pendleton

President

Susan holds an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University an MM in Oboe from The University of Memphis. Her BA degree in music with a minor in theatre is from Heidelberg College. Susan has been teaching drama and music to students from preschool through university since 1974. Presently, she is a free-lance oboist and English hornist and plays with orchestras in Bellingham, Washington. Susan created a creative drama curriculum for the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan School District and continues to lead teacher workshops in various school districts. In April, 2011, Pendleton was invited as a SMART artist to lead workshops in Drama Education at The University of The United Arab Emirates.

Treasurer

Shirley has lived in White Rock since 2002 and currently works as a Canadian and U.S. tax accountant in Surrey and serves as the treasurer on the council of her strata building.  She has worked in a public accounting firms managing accounts and finances for high profile, high net-worth clients in the entertainment industry, including their charitable foundations.  She enjoys living on the Peninsula and is pleased to contribute.

 

Meryle Ardagh

Past President and Recording Secretary

Meryle has been a resident of White Rock for nearly forty years. While living on the peninsula she has served on the board of Camp Kwomais, the Semiahmoo Music Society and since 2004 has been on the board of the Peninsula Arts Foundation. Meryle has always been involved in the arts community in one way or another singing in choirs, teaching & selling crafts, or organizing events for the Peninsula Arts Foundation and others. She works for MNP LLP in Surrey. Some of her interests include painting, mixed media, singing, playing guitar and piano, jewelry design, and fabric arts, gardening and golfing.

Natalie joined the board in 2016 and has been a Peninsula resident for about 25 years. She is the manager of Sandcastle Fitness in South Surrey. Natalie has been singing with rock bands most of her life and still continues to do so today. All of her children have enjoyed the Arts in our community over the years so she is thrilled to be part of the Peninsula Arts Foundation board.

 

Jean Husband

Director

Jean has lived in the Crescent Beach area for twenty years. She has been an avid quilter and textile artists for over thirty years. After retiring in 2013, she focused her creativity on writing.  Since then she has self-published two children’s picture books based on her quilts. Jean belongs to two quilting guilds and a writers critique group. Some of her other interests include badminton, travel and vintage cars.
